  • What's The Difference?: Sticker VS Decal
    Most often people refer to of any kind of image that is placed onto another surface as a sticker...and "technically" that is the case. All stickers use a form of adhesive to stick to a surface, whether it be a water or solvent based glue or even static electricity. Once we get into the refined terms of Stickers, we discover that there are two main types of actual stickers: Vinyl stickers and Paper stickers. Vinyl Stickers are usually printed onto a sheet of vinyl with an adhesive backing, typically glossy, using a specialized inkjet printer. The ink is cured onto the vinyl using heat inside of the printer. The printed vinyl is then contour cut around the outside of the image. The result is a nicely trimmed image than can be removed off of the backing and STICK to a surface. Stickers will always have a sort of "background" behind or around the image due to their process of creation. Paper stickers are very similar to Vinyl stickers, with the exception of durability and longevity due to the image being printed onto a sheet of paper instead of vinyl. Paper stickers are often used as labels for clothing, shipping, price tags, or other semi-permanent applications. Occasionally they may be used for inexpensive children's stickers and other cost saving temporary applications. Vinyl Decals, also known as Die-cut decals, are much different in all aspects of the sticker breed. Decals are designed and then cut out of vinyl material with an adhesive backing. Most often the image being cut is of one color. A machine called a cutter or plotter is operated through software to cut a specific image into the vinyl, but not so deeply that it cuts the backing material. Once the image has been cut through the vinyl layer, the excess vinyl material is "weeded out" and normally discarded. What is left of your product is a crisp clean image and no excess border or background. An adhesive transfer tape is then carefully laid over that image and pressed on while ensuring there are no errors, making it ready for application. Upon installation, the transfer tape is carefully separated from the vinyl backing material to carry your design to a surface and then pressed on firmly to where when the tape is removed, your image is the only thing that remains stuck to the surface. These "stickers" are the longest lasting in terms of durability and resistance to fading. The drawback of vinyl decals is the requirement for simplicity and inability to contain several colors. An experienced vinyl Decal company can incorporate many colors in one decal by cutting out individual colors and carefully layering them on to other colors in the image or into the backing itself, to create the illusion that it is one multi-colored design.

    The optimal surface to place a vinyl decal onto is a non-porous spot such as metal, glass, smooth plastic, or a smooth painted surface.

    This depends on the type of vinyl used. Most permanent outdoor vinyl using solvent based adhesive is rated to last 7-10 years, whereas less permanent indoor vinyl is rated at 1-3 years, and uses a water soluble adhesive.

  • What is your Return Policy?
    Return & Refund Policy of / If you are not happy with your purchase, we will accept a return of a unused product within 14 days, except on Personalized or Custom Products. Once we receive the returned item LMN8R DESiGN CO. will then give a full refund (excluding shipping as we are unable to refund the initial shipping cost of your order). Please allow 1-2 weeks for your return to be processed. Discounted items are not eligible for a return. LMN8R DESiGN CO. will not issue refunds for products purchased through other entities, such as distributors or retail partners. Returned items must be delivered to us unused, in original packaging and in the condition they were received or may not be eligible for refund or be subject to a restocking fee. We cannot be held responsible for items damaged or lost in return shipment, but if this is the case, please contact us as soon as possible. We are unable to issue a refund without actual receipt of the item(s) AND proof of received return delivery. We aim to accept all returns. In the unlikely event that an item is returned to us in an unsuitable condition, we may have to send it back to you. All goods will be inspected upon return.
